"Throughout my 28+ years struggling to fulfill the demands of both motherhood and full-time employment, I felt terrible every time I missed my children’s school events. But there just weren’t any employment options in my field that would give me the flexibility I needed. Finally last year, when I had to call on a neighbor at the last minute to buy a cake and supervise my youngest child’s birthday bash because my flight home from a business trip was delayed for several hours, I decided things had to change.
